Phillytown.com welcomes you to the world of Palm. Now you can load Phillytown.com reviews and take
them on the road with you. When you are sitting in a bar, ready to go to another bar, you can now pull out your Palm and get our reviews on the go. Place our information in your address book and email us what you think about the place while you are enjoying a frosty brew. The idea of placing Phillytown on the Palm was one of my drunken experiments with my computer toys, but the concept proved valuable for me when I was in Paris. Basically me and me mates were headed to
Paris for an extended weekend and there was a lot of information that I wanted to take with me. I like to travel light and hate lugging around guide books, papers, and other documents—looking like a complete wanker of a tourist.
So what I did was publish the information as eBooks and loaded them on my Palm V. This proved to be excellent because all the information was contained in one easy to access place. A couple of nights
while we were in Paris, we went out on a pub crawl. Not knowing the city, all we had to go by was a list of places that I downloaded from the Internet. There we where, a bunch of people crawling around Paris
trying to find some late night action. The great advantage was that when we came to a place that we did not like, could not get into (we were not dressed swanky enough), was dead, or just closed, I just whipped out my Palm, got an address of the new
place and jumped on the Metro for another go at Paris night life. Phillytown.com uses Mobipocket.com software to create it’s eBooks. Theoretically you can use any Palm eBook reader, but we use the MobiPocket
Reader. It works and its free, so its money. You can download the Mobipocket Reader free from their web site http://www.mobipocket.com.
If you can not locate and install Mobipocket Reader then just hand in your computer and Palm because you’re too stupid to use them. The Phillytown eBooks are distributed in one ZIP file. We have broken down each area of the Delaware Valley/Philadelphia into its own eBook.
After you unzip the phillytown.zip file, each eBook is its own PRC. You should know what to do with them. Have a good time pub crawling and drop us an email while you're on your crawl. Eat, Drink, and be Merry
