Phone: (215) 482-2269 Overall Rating (1 to 10): 4 What I’d Do To Improve the Place: Take down all of the beer advertisements and throw some sports memorabilia and photos up on the walls. They've got the TV's showing sporting events 24 -7, so why not expand on that.

| Pitchers Pub is a small little sports bar located along Main Street in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia. As hard as it is to believe, this little bar carries about 20 beers on tap and a nice variety too. The bar at the Pitchers Pub can
accommodate only about 10 people. The remaining space in the bar is occupied by about six high top tables and chairs.
During Friday and Saturday nights, the masses pile in here and the Pitchers Pub becomes mostly SRO. During my last visit to the Pitcher's, the clientele consisted of people in their 20's. The Pitchers often serves as a port in the storm for employees from the highfalutin surrounding boutiques and cafés. As you can see from the photo above, the Pitcher's Pub isn't afraid to place a few advertisements up on their windows. If you look close enough you can spot an open section of window for leering inside for an open table. On the inside of the Pitchers Pub, you can't help but notice that Budweiser and Coors Light must have served as interior decorators because the walls are plastered with beer ads. No need to worry about a dress code, you're welcome here in a T-shirt, jeans and baseball cap. There is not much else to do here at the Pitcher's but drink and order food. The back section of the bar could use a functioning dart board or foosball table to provide some sort of entertainment for the clientele. In the end, the Pitcher's Pub serves it's purpose as a sports bar and is just the place to go when you are in the mood for a decent brew as you watch the game on one of the three TV's mounted above the bar, always a good seat in the house. |
